Program Description

This is the annual educational program for the Thai-American Physicians Foundatin. The theme of this year’s conference is an update in selected topics in Medicine and Pediatrics. There will also be an oral presentation session in the afternoon where invited trainees will have an opportunity to discuss research projects with course faculty by oral and poster presentations. The learning objectives of this course will be accomplished by didactic lectures, interactions with course faculty and oral presentations of research abstracts on various topics in medicie.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:

1) List the updates in adult and pediatric vacinnation policy
2) Recite the pathophysiology and treatment of asthma
3) Explain the epidemiology and risk factors for diabetes
4) Identify new areas of research in medicine


The Emory University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.5 AMA PRA Category I Credits (TM). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Emory University School of Medicine and the Thai American Physicians Foundatin. The Emory University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


Tuition is $175 for non-TAPF and $150 for TAPF members. Tuition includes Friday night reception, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Additional fees will apply for other meals and activities. Written cancellations should be received by TAPF at least 1 month prior to the program and will be refunded less a $25 administration fee.

Students and medical trainees may register at a discounted tuition of $99.

Attendees should register by June 10. Late registration will increase to $200 for non-TAPF members and $175 for TAPF members.

Conference Location and Lodging

All sessions will be held at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa located at 1404 Vacation Road, San Diego, CA 92109 (Hotel Main: 858.274.4630 – Reservations: 800.344.2626). The hotel is the closest hotel to the San Diego Sea World and convenient to many attractions in San Diego including the beach, San Diego Zoo and downtown San Diego. A special group rate is $209 for Lanai Garden rooms. Suites are available upon request. This rate does not include taxes or meals. Guest should call 1-800-344-2626 and mention that they are attending the Thai American Physicians Foundation/Emory CME conference. This special rate is extremely limited. Guests are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible and no later than June 1, 2011.

Attire for the conference is business casual. Since meeting room temperatures and personal comfort levels vary, please bring a sweater or jacket to the educational sessions.
